Hi Friends,
We spent the Memorial Weekend ( plus a few more days) on the East Coast. I love the East Coast - (I wish I could go back in the Fall!:) it is just more European, a little more like home... Our first stop was the lovely Portland. It was dinner time when we got there so we were into finding an authentic restaurant on the waterfront where we could have our - what else - lobster dinner!:) (You better like lobster and seafood if you visit this area !:))
The restored Old Port was packed with locals and tourists as they strolled along on the cobblestone streets. Many cafes, restaurants, boutiques, art galleries - very lively city. We had a few hours next morning before we headed to our next - and maybe the most interesting destination - the Monhagen Island.

A"Memorial Day" unnepi hosszu hetveget ( megtoldva meg par nappal) a keleti parton toltottuk. Elso allomasunk Portland volt, ahol most jartunk eloszor. Nagyon helyes kis tengerparti varoska, kulonosen az oreg vizparti hazai es a Muvesz Negyed tetszett. Kockakoves utcak, szurkere kopott fahazak, tenger gyumolcseit kinalo ettermek, hajnalban nyito halpiac, galeriak, kavezok, siralyok - ez ami nekem Portland :) Vacsoraidoben ertunk, igy mi is a helyi specialitas a homar utan neztunk:) Legjobb ez a hely azoknak, akik szeretik a tengeri etkeket, bar mindenhol van valasztek mas jofalatokbol is, de itt a homart ugy eszik,mint mi magyarok a krumplit.:) Mas szoval nepeledel! Vacsora utan egy helyi kocsmaban kotottunk ki, ahol progressziv es jazz rockot jatszott egy szimpatikus banda a Dirk Quinn Band , felidezve a regiszepidok esteit!:)
Masnap reggel par orank volt meg a varosban, amit foleg fotozassal toltottunk, majd nekiindultunk a -talan legkulonlegesebb uticelnak- a Monhegan Szigetnek. Errol legkozelebb, addig is a kepek Portalandrol megtekinthetoek, ha raklikkeltek a fenti, repteren keszult fotora! Koszonom!:)

A homár finom?? Annyi mindent hallottam már róla.. szeretném egyszer megkóstolni! :)

Homar...kicsit maceras enni, kisse edeskes az ize, de mivel ott ez helyi specialitas nem szabadott kihagyni!:) Finom is volt, de azert en inkabb hal es egyeb tengeri kutyuk kedveloje vagyok.:)
