Palm Springs Modernism Week

For the weekend I'll be in Palm Springs for the Modernism Week . I'm so excited!:) They have excellent architectural tours -  I'm amazed by D. Wexler's buildings.

And the PS Art Museum is just unbelievable, their exhibitions are outstanding. And they allow (at least they have so far) to take photographs! :))
Now they have architectural, photographic and glass exhibits...A Mecca for me!!!:))

Hetvegen Palm Springsben leszek a Modernism Week programon. Fantasztikus epiteszeti turakat szerveznek,- nagy csodaloja vagyok Donald Wexler hazainak, -akit erdekel kukkantson ide.
A helyi Art Museum is maga egy csoda, eszmeletlen jo kiallitasokkal - jelenleg is epiteszeti, foto es uveg kiallitasok vannak-  maga a Paradicsom egy "magamfajtajanak"!:) Ezidaig a fotozast is megengedtek, remelem most is igy lesz, ugyhogy, ha minden jol megy rengeteg fotoval terek majd haza -amelyeket az erdeklodokkel oromest meg is osztom!:)

Suddenly Spring

Eventhough there is no winter here (actually there are no real seasons at all) it is still nice when flowers are blooming in our patio in the springtime.

My favorite is freesia which suddenly appeared in one of the pot and has been blooming every year since then! :)

Annak ellenere, hogy itt nincs tel - a mi fogalmaink szerinti evszakok sincsenek - megis finom valtozasokkal eljon Kaliforniaba is a tavasz !  Rugyek, bimbok es nyilo viragok a kiskertunkben is !:)....Kedvencem a frezia, ami evekkel ezelott koltozott a majomkenyerfa melle - nem tudni honnan fujta erre a szel, lenyeg, hogy minden tavasszal viragba borul!:) Az erdekes lenne, ha a majomkenyerfa es frezia szerelmebol szuletne valami uj.....:))

and a little spark.....

New item on my Etsy shop. After working with raw industrial materials I was into some sparks :) - so I created these Iridescent Glass coasters. Iridescent Glass has a subtle soft elegance all on its own - that's why I did not want to add any accent design. What do you think?

Uj termek az Etsy boltomban.  Az elozo nyers ipari femek utan most egy kis csillogasra vagytam:) - igy szulettek ezek a pohar-alatetek "szinjatszos" uvegbol. Nekem mar az boven eleg, ha valami csillog, ilyenkor mar nem szeretem tovabb cifrazni, igy most sem tettem. Szerintem igy ervenyesul az ilyen uveg sajatossaga, kulonlegessege. Barmi hozzadas mar (nekem) sok lenne. Mit szoltok?:)

Yuzen

There is springtime buzzing in my head! :) I work in parallel on many – can’t even count – ideas  (It would be great to have a huuuuge workshop because the family is slowly being squeezed out of the house by the many new projects!:) I have always planned to combine glass with other materials (textiles, silk, paper, wood, resin, silver – anything can work!:). This necklace is a fusion of two extremes… The roughness of the industrial materials is married with the delicate Japanese yuzon paper. The two sides of the medal are two color-variants of the same pattern – so the buyer gets “two for the price of one” !:) I have many more plans with this yuzon paper – one idea generates another one… it is exciting!:) Naturally, if you are interested in the process of making jewelry I would be glad to share it with you all!:)

Tavaszi kreativ zsongas van a fejemben!:) Parhuzamosan dolgozom - nem is tudom hany ujabb otleten:) ( Nagyon -nagyon jo lenne egy jooooo nagy muhely, mert a csaladot lassan kiszoritjak a mindenhol felbukkano projektjeim!:)) Az uveg melle mindig is terveztem bevonni tobbfele anyagot ( textil, selyem, papir, fa, gyanta, fem, ezust - vegulis, johet szinte barmi!:) Ez a lanc a ket veglet fuzioja....Az ipari anyagok nyersessege es a finom, - eredeti japan - yuzen papir sajatsagos na'sza. A medal ket oldala ugyanazon minta mas szinkombinacioja - igy a Vasarlo "egyet fizet, kettot kap"!:) Nagyon sok tervem van ezzel a yuzen papirral,(is) egyik otlet hozza a masikat....Izgalmas!:) Termeszetesen az ekszerkeszites folyamatait - ha erdekel Benneteket - szivesen osztom meg!:)

Vintage Bottle

My glass bottle collection is growing!:) Some of them are just an average wine bottle - which I saved just because I like its shape/color or whatever:)

I've bought this blue  vintage bottle in the antique shop in Big Bear that I've showed you in my previous post. It is a registered bottle - from Paul W.Friedler - not a rare bottle, but all I care if I like it or not. Fortunately, I'm not into expensive collectibles - I prefer rustic or just simple everyday items to crystals etc:)

Gyarapszik az uveg-gyujtemenyem!:) Nehany kozuluk csak egyszeru, mai borosuveg, amit megtartottam, csak mert tetszett a szine, formaja vagy akarmije...:)
Ezt a kek vintage uveget a Big Bear-ben vettem, a "macis antikosnal", amit az elozo bejegyzesben mutattam nektek. Paul W. Fiedler a "markaja", nem egy ritka uveg, de engem csak annyi erdekel, hogy tetszik e ( az ara is) Szerencsere jobban szeretem ezeket a sima, rusztikus, mindennapi hasznalati dolgokat,mint pl a kristalyt...:)

Big Bear Lake

This weekend we tried to escape from the hardships of everydays (which we have our fair share). Our hiding place was Big Bear Lake which is about 2 and a half drive from San Diego. This mountain is 7000 ft higher than SD and the temperature is 20 F lower. Perfect if you want some change!:) These is a paradise for Californian skiers - which we are not... Our program was to do completely nothing. Just reading, walking, taking pictures - try to relax. And we did it! You can see few pictures here.


And this series about big bears was taken in a huge antique shop.... While you were walking through the yard you could meet few really cute bears, literally everywhere. :) Aren't they adorable?:))

Hetvegen megprobaltunk elbujni a mindennapi gondok elol ( boven jut ). Buvohelyunk a Big Bear Lake volt , ami kb. 2100  m magas hegy,  2 es fel oras autoutra San Diegotol. A homerseklet pedig kb 20 fokkal kevesebb( az oxigen is!:)) ...tokeletes, ha az ember valtozasra vagyik!:)  Foleg si-paradicsomkent ismert a kaliforniaiak koreben - de mi nem vagyunk sielok.:) A programunk  A Tokeletes Semmitteves volt !:) Olvasas, nagy setak, fenykepezes... bar ez mar ugye nemsemmi!:)...A (rovid) relaxalas sikerult -   johetnek a hetkoznapok!:)  Nehany foto a setakrol itt
A macis -sorozat pedig egy hatalmas antik-uzlet -kertben keszult, ahol a rengeteg ertekes/kevesbe ertekes holmi kozt fel felbukkantak ezek a helyes macik - szoszerint mindenhol lehetett talalkozni veluk!:)) Jo fejek, nem?:)))

Craft Mafia

Yesterday's Craft Show was a big success for me!:) So far the best craft show I've ever made. :) Despite of some confusion - it seemed that the audience was not aware that it was a Valentine's Day Sale :) - I think we all had fun. The venue was not a typical craft show place - and I liked that!:) It was very alternative - I know the pictures are not so perfect - (it was really dark in the pub and not much time to take pictures).... but you might get the feeling of the event a little:)
And back to work now. Less red for a while....:)
For the weekend we will escape to the mountains so I wish you all a very happy weekend now!

Megvolt!:) Az eddigi vasaraim kozul eddig ez volt a legsikeresebb! Mint mindig persze most is voltak nem vart esemenyek, pl az, az aprosag, hogy igazan senki sem tudta a beterok kozul, hogy ez Valentine napos vasar....:)  de ettol fuggetlenul szerintem mindannyian jol ereztuk magunkat!  A helyszin sem egy tipikus kezmuves vasar helyszin, s en ezt szerettem :)  - a fotok nem tul jok, sotet volt a kocsmaban!:) - de talan egy picit a "filing"-bol ad valamit!:) 
Most viszont vissza a munkahoz - a piros szint  egy darabig azt hiszem nelkulozni fogom......:)
Hetvegere eltununk a hegyekbe, igy most kivanok mindannyiotoknak nagyon szep hetveget!

Mafia's Event Today!:)

...... I made one more necklace today and I'm off to the Mafia's Event!:)

Azt hittem kesz vagyok, de ma  megszuletett  meg  egy ekszer...ha jonni akar, hadd jojjon o is! :).....Es akkor most en elmentem a vasarba......:) Wish me luck!:)

Nujabes - Music is mine

I'm still around .......just these days are "one of those days".... I'm getting ready for the Craft Mafia's Event - so excited!:) But in the meantime there is always one hundred other things to worry about (to me it is mostly about my far-away parents' health) I try to collect myself and focus on the positive aspects - but who says it is easy.... We all go through challenges.... So, this is my mood now but music always helps!:) Modal Soul was introduced to me by my son - and I'm happy to find out one more common thing - we both like it!:)


Vagyok...csak nehezek a napok....Keszulok lelkes-izgatottan a Craft Mafia Balint napi vasarra - de kozben ezer mas aggodnivalo is ( nekem ez leginkabb a tavol elo, idosodo szuleim egeszsege) Persze probalom osszeszedni/tartani magam, a pozitiv dolgokra is koncentralni - de ki mondja, hogy ez konnyu?! Mindannyiunknak megvannak a kihivasai. Hat, ilyesmi a hangulatom most.... - de a zene mindig segit. Pl a Modal Soul, amit a nagyfiam mutatott nekem - s ez is orom, hogy vannak meg kozos zeneink, amit mindketten szeretunk!:)  ( Annak idejen az Orrom krumpli, Hajam koc -al kezdtuk:))

I'm very happy being selected as a vendor by North Park Craft Mafia so I've been working really hard for the Valentine's Day Gift Bazaar. I do make few traditional necklaces but I try not to go overboard with hearts,cupido etc - it is just not me:) My collection will be mostly modern, non-traditional, a little funky-chunky.....:)

Nagyon orulok,hogy bevalasztottak a Balint napi Kezmuves Vasar(buli)ba - ugyhogy dolgozom is rendesen, izzik a kemence!:)
Keszul egy-ket-ha' tradicionalisabb Balint napi medal ( szivecskes:), de ez a max., nem lesznek rozsak, cupidok stb - az nagyon nem az en mufajom:) Leginkabb modern ill. kisse funky darabokat tervezek,amik csak szinben utalnak az alkalomra - csak legyen idom meg is valositani az otleteket. Most is olyan surun fekszenek egymas mellett a medalok a kemenceben, attol felek,hogy szerelmesen eggye olvad az osszes:)
